Christina Phillips Appointed as Vice-Chair of ABA TIPS Property Insurance Law General Committee

CHICAGO – June 27, 2011 – Childress Loucks & Plunkett is pleased to announce that Christina M. Phillips, an associate in the firm’s Chicago office, has been appointed as Vice-Chair of the American Bar Association’s TIPS Property Insurance Law General Committee within the Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Section for the 2011-2012 fiscal year. She will begin her one-year appointment on Tuesday, August 9, 2011, upon the conclusion of the ABA Annual Meeting in Toronto, Canada.

At Childress Loucks & Plunkett, Ms. Phillips focuses her practice on insurance recovery and related litigation. She represents the insured policyholder in property insurance claims and lawsuits involving construction defect issues. She has negotiated, adjusted, and prosecuted insurance claims arising in numerous states.

Ms. Phillips received her J.D. in 2005 from The John Marshall Law School and a B.A. from St. Mary’s College in 2002. She is a member of the bar in various State, Federal District, and Appellate Courts across the Country. These include:

• Illinois State
• District of Columbia
• Northern District of Illinois
• Minnesota State
• District of Minnesota
• Northern, Eastern, Western, and Southern Districts of Texas

Ms. Phillips is a member of a number of national professional organizations, which includes the American Bar Association, Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, American Association for Justice, the Minnesota State Bar Association, and The Bar Association of the District of Columbia. She is also a member of the Chicago Bar Association, and the Trial Bar for the Northern District of Illinois.

Her publications include Chapter 18: “Homeowners Insurance: The Real Estate Attorney’s Role,” Real Estate, IICLE (2008) and the revised chapter (2011).
