Michael L. Childress is a founding shareholder of Childress Loucks & Plunkett, a law firm with extensive experience in helping insurance policyholders with their claims. He concentrates his practice on protecting and enforcing the rights of the insured. Since 1981, he has negotiated, adjusted and prosecuted insurance claims arising in 40 states, successfully coordinating thousands of investigations and working with experts from many fields. He represents national and international policyholders in matters that involve risk management, disaster recovery, and insurance coverage. He is recognized in insurance coverage and recovery of benefits from insurance companies.

Education & Court Admissions :

Michael received a J.D. from The John Marshall Law School in Chicago in 1981, and a B.A. in 1977 from Marquette University.

Community service is an integral part of Michael’s life. He serves as a Board Member of the Chicago Board of Roscrance Foundation and a supporter of Mailisita Education Foundation, an organization that helps underprivileged orphans in Tanzania.

Michael is a member of the bar in various State, Federal District, and Appellate Courts across the Country.

Publications and Speaking Engagements

Michael frequently speaks on insurance-related topics at conferences and seminars arranged by trade associations. Two of the largest trade associations in the property insurance industry, the Loss Executive Association (LEA) and the Property Loss Research Bureau (PLRB), invited him to speak on the benefits of co-mediation of Property Insurance claims as a means of reaching resolution without having to resort to litigation.
