Andrew M. Plunkett is a partner at Childress Loucks & Plunkett, headquartered in Chicago. He focuses his practice on the handling and resolution of insurance disputes on behalf of policyholders nationwide. He represents corporate, public, and private policyholders in large property losses both in terms of benefits recovery and coverage issues. He advises, consults, and represents the insured on insurance policy interpretation and loss valuation to ensure the fair resolution to a claim, as well as identifying additional funding when acts or omissions of third parties contributed to the loss. Andrew is very involved with topics affecting the insurance industry, including the public adjusting profession; he is active with the National Association of Public Adjusters (NAPIA) and was instrumental in co-founding the Association of Midwest Public Insurance Adjusters (AMPIA).

Education & Court Admissions :

Andrew received a J.D. in 1990 from Loyola University Chicago School of Law, and a B.A. from Indiana University in 1985.

Publications and Speaking Engagements

Andrew is a Certified Mediator and he has spoken on the topic of Co-Mediation of disaster claims at annual meetings of two of the largest property insurance trade associations: the Property Loss Research Bureau (PLRB) and the Loss Executive Association (LEA). He is a frequent lecturer on insurance-related matters, including presentations at two NAPIA annual conferences on the topics “PA’s Partnering with Counsel” and “The Unauthorized Practice of Public Adjusting.” A detailed list of his presentations and writing is available upon request.
